Bespoke Order Policy – United States

Artisan Furniture (“Artisan”, “we”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our US website and B2B portals to operate securely, enhance functionality, and measure performance.

There is no single federal “cookie law” in the United States. This US Cookie Policy is drafted to align with state privacy requirements across all 50 states, with special emphasis on California’s CCPA/CPRA and New York’s requirements (including security obligations under the SHIELD Act). It supplements our Global Cookie Policy.

1. U.S. Routing & Scope

All bespoke orders placed through the U.S. bespoke page are:

  • Manufactured at our artisan facility in Jaipur, India.
  • First shipped to one of our U.S. fulfilment centers in New Jersey or California.
  • Delivered anywhere within the 50 states of the United States.

Important: No cross-border deliveries are permitted once the products arrive in the United States. Orders must be fulfilled and delivered strictly within U.S. borders.

2. Two Levels of Customisation

Level 1 – Personal Modifications

Based on an existing Artisan Furniture design, Level 1 allows you to:

  • Change the fabric or finish
  • Select alternative hardware
  • Choose a different leg design
  • Request minor dimensional adjustments (within tolerance)

Ownership of the design remains with Artisan Furniture.

Level 2 – Custom Creations

For entirely new designs or significant modifications, Level 2 enables:

  • Submission of your concepts, drawings, or technical plans
  • Bespoke development with exclusive rights for your business
  • Joint confirmation on technical feasibility and production timeline

Design ownership is transferred to the commissioning business upon order confirmation.

3. What Can Be Changed

    • Fabric & Upholstery: Velvet, linen, cotton, premium leather (7 colors)
    • Finishes: Honey, Oak, Walnut, and over 20 artisan finish options
    • Hardware: Empire Brass Pull, Pewter Knob, Deco U-Bar, and more
    • Leg Designs: Tapered Gold Tip, Globe Foot, Victorian Turn, etc.
    • Timber: Mango (standard), Oak, Acacia, Sheesham (volume dependent)
    • Dimensions: Minor modifications (Level 1) or structural redesign (Level 2)

All finishes and fabrics are artisan applied or tested for durability.

4. Pricing, Taxes & Payment (U.S.)

  • Currency: U.S. Dollars (USD)
  • Taxes: State sales tax will apply depending on destination state regulations.
  • Banking: Payment in USD to our Citibank account in New York City.
  • Quotation validity: Time-limited; revised after expiry

Indicative adjustment costs:
Finish change: +7%
Fabric change (non-leather): +7%
Leather upgrade: Quoted individually

5. Lead Times

Bespoke orders are handmade to order and typically dispatched within 8 – 16 weeks, depending on:

  • Complexity of customization
  • Production queue
  • Shipping transit into the U.S. fulfilment center

6. Sketches & Drawings

Sketches may be provided upon request:

  • All dimensions are approximate
  • Final product may vary slightly due to handcrafting
  • Sketches are guidelines, not construction blueprints

7. Order Process

  1. Brief & Classification: Share your customization request → Level 1 or Level 2 classification.
  2. Quotation: Receive your formal bespoke quote.
  3. Deposit: 100 % non-refundable deposit required to commence production.
  4. Production: Handcrafted in Jaipur.
  5. U.S. Inbound QC: Product lands in New Jersey or California for processing.
  6. Approval: Photographs provided before final dispatch.
  7. Balance & Delivery: Full payment required before shipment.
  8. Delivery: Restricted to the 50 states of the U.S. only.

8. Returns, Cancellations & Claims

  • Bespoke orders are final and cannot be cancelled or altered after confirmation.
  • No refunds, returns, or exchanges except in the case of verified manufacturing defects.
  • Defect claims must be raised promptly and supported with photographic evidence.
  • Our standard U.S. claims window and remedy procedure applies.

9. Using the Correct Regional Route

This policy applies strictly to U.S. deliveries. Orders may not be rerouted internationally after arrival in the U.S. For delivery outside the U.S., please place bespoke orders via the respective regional website.
